Plot summary
Julianne and Mitch marry after a short courtship and travel to a secluded lake for a two-week honeymoon. They stay in an old cottage on an island in the middle of the water, a spot with no electricity and no phone coverage. Julianne is afraid of water and cannot swim, and she tries to settle in anyway. Mitch takes to the country life. She wants to visit the town so she can call her parents and tell them she is safe; he becomes overprotective and refuses. As the days pass she is ready to go home and begin their life together, while he wants the two of them to remain where they are.
