Plot summary

Sean Bruner is a school security guard in Los Angeles. He and his wife Andrea are expecting their first child, and he still carries pain from a difficult childhood. One night during his shift, he sees a strange light in the sky. He wakes in a hospital with a brain injury. The injury leaves him with frightening images of alien beings and desert terrain. He also discovers he can draw what he sees, producing detailed and troubling pictures. Sean begins to doubt what is real around him. His main concern becomes keeping Andrea and their unborn baby safe from a threat he cannot see.
