David and the Elves (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

David spends Christmas in the Tatra Mountains with his parents and grandparents, then the family moves to Warsaw, where work swallows his mother and father and the holiday loses its meaning. In the North Pole, elf Albert questions why Saint Nicholas matters and believes that the gratitude people feel for gifts is what feeds his magic. He slips away from Santa's land against Santa's wishes and finds people who neither need him nor love him, and his power begins to fade. In a Warsaw park he meets David, who has searched the city for Christmas magic without finding it. The boy believes in the holiday, and Albert's spells, a truck turned into a toy among them, trail the two of them through town.
