Plot summary
Morgan Sullivan, an accountant who has just lost his job, is tired of his suburban life. His wife pushes him toward her father's company, but he signs on with Digicorp, and its head of security, Finster, brings him into corporate espionage under the name Jack Thursby. Assigned to attend conventions and pass recorded presentations to headquarters, he suffers nightmares and neck pain. At a bar he meets Rita Foster, who works for a rival firm. She hands him pills and tells him to hold back his transmission at the convention ahead. Digicorp says it received a transmission he never sent, and the pills end the nightmares. Rita says Digicorp is deceiving him, gives him an antidote and warns him to stay calm at the coming convention, whatever happens.
