Plot summary
An older Pitcalin looks back on his early life as a prospector and on the five men he rode with. Five of them come upon a small Apache camp and find gold in it. They kill the people there and keep one young woman alive, believing she will lead them to more of the metal. Pitcalin is the only one of the five men who treats her with decency. An Apache brave was away from the camp when it happened; he comes back, finds the dead and buries them, and then follows the trail the five men have taken.
