Plot summary
On September 18, 1980, at 6:25 p.m., an explosion rocks a Titan II missile complex in Damascus, Arkansas, and an Air Force member is killed. Life on the base changes for everyone there. The film treats that night as one case of what is called human error, and sets the fine tolerances of the machinery against the scale of the risks the United States accepted as it built up its nuclear arsenal during the Cold War. The documentary comes from a 2013 non-fiction book about the same episode, and parts of it were shot at the Titan Missile Museum in Green Valley, Arizona.
