Plot summary
In Ontario, Canada, a group of law enforcement professionals identify as 2SLGBTQ+, and their working lives ask for two kinds of disclosure at once. The first is personal: telling family, friends and community about their identity, inside a paramilitary workplace historically marked by hyper-masculinity, where sexuality and gender minorities have been marginalized or punished. The second runs the opposite way: explaining to friends and chosen family in the queer community that they are officers, in a community whose mistrust of police grew from its experiences of over-enforcement and under-protection. Personal identity, professional identity and belonging to a community wary of law enforcement form a triple bind.
