Plot summary

The research of Joy Buolamwini at the MIT Media Lab showed that many facial recognition systems did not recognize her face, and she set out to understand why they failed. The documentary also examines how artificial intelligence and machine learning affect minorities in other ways. It reports that few legal structures govern artificial intelligence, and that some algorithms discriminate by race and gender in housing, credit, career opportunities, healthcare, education and legal matters.
