Plot summary
In the far future, three people learn of a scheme called the Cleopatra Plan, run by the Pasateli, an alien race. Jirō Tani, Hal Witcher, and Maria Fellow use a time machine to place their minds in the bodies of members of Cleopatra's court, hoping to uncover and block the aliens' intentions. Hal sees the trip as his chance to become history's greatest lover by sleeping with the queen. As the Romans conquer Egypt, a group of Egyptians plots to overthrow Julius Caesar by sending Cleopatra to seduce and kill him. The Romans find the plotters and attack. Cleopatra escapes with her handmaidens Libya and Apollodoria to a priestess, who gives her an irresistible body. The travelers arrive: Maria wakes as Libya, Hal as the priestess's leopard Rupa, and Jirō as Ionius, a Greek the Romans have enslaved.
