Plot summary
Aracà is a hamlet in the Ligurian countryside whose residents do the talking, with no narrator and no music. They relate their own experience of time, change, loss and hope, and the film lets the sounds of the place carry its scenes. The agricultural work that includes olive harvesting and winegrowing is being transformed by globalization and new technology, and the people who do it are aging. An increasing number of buyers from other countries are taking houses that stand empty in the village. The generation that would follow is finding it hard to survive by farming, and the hamlet faces dereliction.
