Plot summary
Sammaeri is a quiet mountain town near Jirisan that had gone ten years without crime. Bodies of villagers have begun turning up, and they come just before an organic food fair that the village leaders expect to be a financial windfall. The grandfather of one of the victims is certain that a man-killing boar is responsible. The five who start up the mountain are the grandfather, Detective Shin, a police officer transferred from Seoul whose mother is missing in the woods, the biologist Byun Soo-ryun and the glory-seeking hunter Baek Man-bae.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The film's special-effects scenes were shot over 40 days in San Francisco, where the U.S. effects team and the Korean actors sometimes clashed over cultural differences in interpreting a scene or dialogue; Uhm Tae-woong said they ended up with a team spirit "as if we battled together in a war."
- The mutated, super-sized pig that develops a taste for human flesh took three years to design, and was realized with animatronics, costumed stuntmen and CG by Polygon Entertainment and Stareast Digital Lab, led by Hans Uhlig and Erik Jensen.
