Plot summary
A young graduate, Sunder Srivastava, wants to start a school on the half-acre plot he owns in his village, and has no money for it. His childhood friend Prem, a conman in Mumbai, talks him into mortgaging the land to the village landlord and coming to the city, promising a well-paid teaching post in Dubai that would fund the school within two years. Sunder goes, but at the station Prem is nowhere, a thief takes his luggage and his cash, and a letter at Prem's lodge says his friend has gone to Dubai himself. With nothing left, Sunder ends up in an old Christian cemetery. He sits on a grave, strikes the tombstone in frustration and apologizes at once. A voice answers: Amar Kumar, known as Marco, a ghost no one else can see or hear.
