Plot summary
Cetto La Qualunque has put politics behind him and settled in Germany, where he has spent four years running a chain of restaurants and pizzerias. He lives there with Petra, his new wife, with their daughter and with Pino, a friend who stays close to him. One evening, after dinner with his in-laws, a phone call tells him that his aunt, now elderly, is dying. He travels back to the town where he was born, and there she reveals what the family had kept from him: the man he had always taken for his father, a door-to-door seller of detergents, was not, and his real father was the prince Buffo di Calabria. By that account Cetto carries royal blood.
