Plot summary
The film looks at people who say mold made them ill and at the dispute their claims have stirred. Doctors, lawmakers and medical associations reject the idea, since most of the reported symptoms can be diagnosed as other illnesses, and no standard way exists to measure which molds, at which levels, cause harm. At the center are a filmmaker and the founder of a denim company who say molds growing in her apartment left them allergic to everyday chemicals, furniture, foods and pollen. The whole 264-unit apartment community was evacuated and shut indefinitely. Five years on, the two say they still deal with symptoms and have trouble finding housing they consider safe.
