Plot summary
Black holes sit at the edge of what science can know, and the Event Horizon Telescope is built to reach that edge. Observatories around the world link into a single earth-sized instrument aimed at the supermassive black holes at the center of the Milky Way and of the Messier 87 galaxy. Every site must record at the same moment, and weather can spoil a night. In parallel, Andrew Strominger, Malcolm Perry and Sasha Haco work with Stephen Hawking on the information paradox.
