Benny's Video (1992) on Netflix

Plot summary

Benny's parents, Georg and Anna, are well off and emotionally absent. They keep their son supplied with televisions, cassette players and recording devices and leave him alone for long stretches, without noticing how drawn he is to filmed violence. Benny spends his days at school, at the video arcade and in his room, watching on the monitor the scenes his camera records. Again and again he plays a home video he made on a farm, where a pig is killed with a captive bolt pistol. When his parents leave for a weekend, Benny notices a girl outside a video store and invites her to the apartment. They eat pizza and milk and watch videos.
