The Silence (2010) on Netflix

Plot summary

Twenty-three years before Sinikka Weghamm disappears, 11-year-old Pia was killed in a wheat field outside a small German town. Her body was driven away in a car, her bicycle left behind, and a second man in that car stayed silent. Now Sinikka, 13, goes missing from the local fair, and her bicycle turns up in the same place. Krischan Mittich, the detective who worked the original case, has just retired. The inquiry falls to David Jahn, still grieving his wife, who died five months before, and to Matthias Grimmer, the new senior detective, who wants the case handled his own way. Mittich wants to be involved but is kept out.
