Plot summary
In 1980 Madrid, an actor looking for work visits the filmmaker Enrique Goded, saying he is Ignacio Rodriguez, Enrique's friend and first love at their Catholic boarding school, whom Enrique has not seen in sixteen years. The visitor calls himself Ángel Andrade and brings a manuscript, The Visit, telling of their school friendship, of their first sexual experience together, and of Ignacio's relationship with Father Manolo, who taught literature and ran the school. Ángel wants Enrique to film the story and cast him in a leading role.
