Plot summary
Mark Landis has spent decades compulsively making impeccable copies of major artists' works and donating them to institutions across the United States, where many are displayed. His forgeries span thirty years before he is exposed, and he must then face the legacy of his long con. He lives a cluttered and insular life. An equally obsessive art registrar becomes his foil.
