Plot summary
The film is a meditation on architecture and on what buildings of stone and concrete say about the societies that made them. Temple ruins at Baalbek in Lebanon, which date to AD 60, are set beside cities in Turkey destroyed by an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 in early 2023. The rise and fall of civilizations runs through it, together with the question of how the world of tomorrow is to be inhabited. It focuses on a landscape project by the Italian architect Michele De Lucchi.
