Plot summary
Anne Frank's diary breaks off in August 1944, while she and her family were hidden in a secret annex above Otto Frank's office building. The documentary carries the story past the diary's last page, to the atrocities that millions of Jews met during the Holocaust, and moves inside the concentration camps. Friends of Anne Frank speak about her, together with historians and researchers from Dutch institutes that document the war, a historian from the International Institute for Holocaust Research, and an archaeologist working at Sobibor in Poland. New findings and rarely seen photographs are also folded into the account throughout.
