Plot summary
Amar Manohar and Prem Bhopali are two daydreamers who live with their fathers, Murli and Bankelal, and dream of easy riches. Word reaches them that Raveena Bajaj, daughter of the millionaire Ram Gopal Bajaj, travels from London to India with her secretary Karishma to look for a groom. Each decides to court her for a share of her father's wealth. The two meet on the bus to Ooty, where Raveena and Karishma live, and find that they are chasing the same woman, so they compete. Their attempts to court the two women fail until they talk their way into the house. Amar claims that a blow from Raveena has cost him his memory and his eyesight, and Prem arrives as the doctor treating him, while falling for Karishma.

- While shooting Andaz Apna Apna, director Rajkumar Santoshi had to call for a cut because almost the entire crew, including the director of photography, laughed so hard that it shook the camera.
- Andaz Apna Apna had no bound script, and most of its dialogue was improvised by the cast and crew during the shoot.
- Amrish Puri was supposed to play Zorambo, the younger brother of Mogambo, in Andaz Apna Apna, but the character was removed because the film was running too long.
- Tinnu Anand was offered the role of the villain Gogo in Andaz Apna Apna but had to turn it down because of date issues, and Shakti Kapoor played the part instead.
- Salman Khan first wanted more screen space than his co-star in Andaz Apna Apna, but later agreed that they would have the same amount of screen time.
