Amulet (2020) on Netflix

Plot summary

Tomaz, an ex-soldier, is homeless in London and earns what he can as a day laborer, sleeping in a derelict building alongside other refugees. A fire drives him out into the night; he collapses in an alley, unable to breathe through the smoke, and Sister Claire, a nun, discovers him there. She comes to see him in the hospital and then proposes a different arrangement, leading him to a decaying house. Its occupant, Magda, needs help keeping the place up while she looks after her dying mother. Magda leaves no doubt that she would rather he were not there, and he hesitates to remain. Over time the two of them become used to each other, and he sets about making repairs.
