Plot summary
Ruthless kickboxer Trevor Gottitall is told by his trainer that defeating an opponent is not enough; he must humiliate him so the man fears him for life. In the Jersey Shore Karate Championship final, Trevor leaves teenager Drew Carson on the floor in his briefs, and Drew crawls from the ring through the audience's laughter. Drew's teacher Master Kwan then admits he is no Shaolin monk and never passed on the true kung fu. Drew travels to China and asks to enter the Shaolin Temple. The monks turn him away at first; a tea shop waitress named Ashena and an old monk help him, and after a week outside the gates he is admitted. Inside, his American teenage temperament clashes with the temple's calm and with a fellow student, Gao, as the monks train him.
