American Jesus (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

Christianity as it is practiced in many corners of American life is the subject, from people on the breadline to people in a yoga studio, and from small churches where believers handle snakes to large congregations in the suburbs. Pastors, Christian cowboys, bikers, musicians, comedians, surfers and cage-fighters appear, and they say their work is done for Christ. A filmmaker from Barcelona travels across a politically divided United States to gather candid testimonials that turn on faith, materialism, politics and personal passion. The people who give them include religious and secular characters, and the points of view they express often conflict with one another.
