Plot summary
In the winter of 1940, Jules arrives with his family in a settler village in northern Quebec, where his uncle serves as mayor. A rare skin disease bars Jules from the local school. A cure is what he wants most. His dog Spark runs off into the wild forest, so Jules sets out after him. He crosses paths with Asha, a young indigenous girl. Together they head for the other side of the forest.
