Plot summary

A documentary built around the simulation hypothesis, the idea that the reality people experience might be a constructed program. People who suspect this is the case describe what brought them to it, some of them appearing on camera as digital avatars rather than as themselves. Their testimony joins archival footage and cases drawn from contemporary culture, tracing a notion that reaches back to Plato's Republic and forward to Elon Musk's Twitter feed. The case for the proposition is argued, not left open.
