Lane Frost grows up in Oklahoma learning bull riding from his father Clyde, an accomplished bronc rider. As an adult he rides the professional rodeo circuit alongside Tuff Hedeman and Cody Lambert, his closest friends. A scored ride means staying on a bull for eight seconds. Lane meets Kellie Kyle, a barrel racer, and the two marry in 1984. As his fame grows, so does the pressure Lane puts on himself to match what people say about him.
