Plot summary
Nambour, on Australia's northeast coast, is where Geoff and Ben Corbett grew up on a chicken farm before taking to punk and performance art in the 1980s. As the front men of 6ft Hick they draw on their North Queensland roots, working inbred and bigoted imagery through wit and self-deprecation, and fifteen years of touring have made the band an underground institution. On stage they lurch around, charge into the crowd, dangle upside down from the lighting rigs, drink beer out of boots, eat what they find in ashtrays and let blood. Offstage their mild-mannered alter egos keep day jobs and normal lives, amassing resources until the beast re-awakens. The documentary rides a 6,000 kilometer European tour of fifteen shows in eighteen days and asks what motivates them where music means cashing in or bowing out.
