Plot summary
In 2005, Morton Schmidt does well in class but his geeky manner makes it hard for him to fit in with his peers, while Greg Jenko is a popular athlete with poor grades. The two cross paths later at the police academy, become friends, and are assigned to bicycle patrol in a park. They catch Domingo, leader of a motorcycle gang, on a drug charge, but a procedural mistake forces them to let him go. Captain Dickson reassigns them to 21 Jump Street, an undercover program that places officers inside high schools, and sends them to Sagan High School to stop the spread of a new synthetic drug, HFS. Given schedules based on their old school records, they swap identities by mistake. Schmidt hears about the drug from a classmate, Molly, and the pair meet Eric, the school's main dealer.
