Plot summary
In the mid-1980s three women, each with a lawyer, come to the New York office of the music manager Morris Levy. One sang with the Platters, one is a petty thief in Philadelphia, and one is a teacher in Augusta, Georgia. Each says she married Frankie Lymon, the doo-wop singer and songwriter, and each asks for the royalties owed to his estate, which Levy has never shared. A civil trial hears the claims, and the story moves between that courtroom and the years each woman spent with Lymon, who as a teenager sang with the Teenagers.
