Plot summary
In 1974 San Diego, Ron Burgundy heads the news team at station KVWN channel 4, alongside field reporter Brian Fantana, sportscaster Champ Kind and meteorologist Brick Tamland. Veronica Corningstone, the station's first female reporter and anchor, is his rival. A group of thieves calls itself The Alarm Clock: Kanshasha X, Malcolm Y, Mouse and Paul Hauser, who rob a bank and hand the money to their revolution. Hauser was to write its manifesto, and when his partners press him he declares that television propaganda is the target, after watching Burgundy's public service announcement against drugs. Taking over broadcasts becomes the plan. Burgundy, meanwhile, tours Corningstone around San Diego and points out the observatory, where he dreams of reading the news.
