Plot summary
Gülten and Fariz are young lovers, and her Turkish family forbids the match: Fariz drives a truck, and they believe a man of lower status would bring dishonor on them all. Rather than be parted, the two elope in secret to the small town of Samandra, where their son is born. Money is short with a baby to raise, and the strain settles on the couple. Fariz takes longer shifts on the road while Gülten takes a job at a supermarket in town. The two keep the household going on their long hours, and the hours they share grow fewer.
