Plot summary
Joey, who lives with obsessive-compulsive disorder and childhood trauma, relies on Craig, her gay friend. When their home becomes uninhabitable, the two are left with nowhere to live. Brian, a man Joey used to date, then reappears and tells her he wants her back. He is an alien, and his presence and touch make anxiety and depression vanish, which makes him hard for the pair to walk away from. He takes them to a compound of his own, set apart from everyone else. What he is hiding there, and what he is trying to do, he does not share.
