Plot summary
Jane is a high school student whose friends have started to notice that she shows no interest in boys. A new girl at school, Taylor, becomes a friend, and the closeness between them leads to a first kiss and then a couple's relationship. Jane is unsure what the kiss means about who she is. After they sleep together for the first time, Jane calls it a mistake and says she is not gay, and a hurt Taylor ends things. Jane goes to Ms. Walcott, who teaches English and guides students, and admits she has lost her virginity without saying who her partner was. Ms. Walcott suggests she write Taylor a note about how she feels.
