Plot summary
Tom and Jeff Cloud work a cattle ranch in Texas. Their foreman, Juan Amordor, is found dead under a bush, and the brothers carry the news to town and report it to Sheriff Elmer Gaul. Kathleen Boyce, a neighbor and Tom's lover, tells them that her husband Earl watched the killing and is afraid for his safety. When a stranger rides in, Tom identifies him as Kid Wichita, the outlaw James, his brother. Wichita proposes to track down whoever killed Juan, asking food and a place to sleep in return. Tom accepts. The three men call on Earl, who will not name the killer.
