Plot summary

Newly crowned King Edvard of Denmark and his wife, Paige Morgan, a doctor, take a secret Christmas honeymoon in Belavia, a crown protectorate, staying at a ski resort. While touring Belavia's natural beauty, they find that Prime Minister Polonius has ordered crews to bulldoze the forests and drill for oil. The king and queen decide to save the forest, even if their honeymoon has to wait. Paige's former high-school boyfriend, Scott, a journalist, appears, and Edvard grows jealous. Edvard asks to meet with Prince Georgiev and is refused, so the couple attend the Holiday Ball, where they learn that Polonius has told the prince the king himself ordered the forest cut down.
