Plot summary
Andi is an anxious, well-behaved 33-year-old pianist whose pulmonary fibrosis makes him dependent on extra oxygen. Benno, 36, has a criminal record and a brain tumor that makes him fall asleep at irregular moments. The two share a hospice room and have nothing in common except the certainty that both will die soon. Neither wants to wait for that death. After trouble at the hospice they run away, obtain 140,000 euros through credit fraud and head for Africa, intending to have the most beautiful day of their lives. The prospect of prison does not deter them, given how little time remains.
