Plot summary
Conformist Soviet society leaves Rafael, a heavy metal fan in the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic, feeling alienated. He is a guard on the Soviet-Chinese border, and he survives a deadly attack. He decides to become a monk. The monks he encounters are an underground society of Eastern Orthodox believers who practice kung fu. He has set out to become an enlightened man, and along the way he must keep proving he is capable of it.
