Plot summary
Cory has moved through many foster placements and none have lasted. A new home with Dan and Michelle offers adoption, but he is told that one more problem will send him to a facility for delinquents. At an aged care center where he sings with other children, he meets Carlotta, a resident who once worked and performed in a circus. The two, both withdrawn, begin to spend time together. Fearing that his place with Dan and Michelle is ending, Cory leaves. He visits Carlotta to say goodbye, and she asks for his help to get out. Together they run off to join a traveling circus.
