Plot summary
Bob MacDonald gives up his city job and takes his new wife Betty to a farm in the country, where he intends to make his living as a chicken farmer. The farmhouse is old and needs repairs, and the baby chicks demand constant care. Betty struggles with managing the crumbling house, holding off nosy neighbors and dealing with a pig that will not cooperate. Bob works out what crops to plant and what livestock to keep. A rich single woman who owns a farm and has new equipment and a new house flirts with Bob, and Betty questions whether they were right to move to the farm at all.
