Plot summary
In Emilia-Romagna in the early 1970s, a UNESCO agent finds blood inside wine bottled by a well-known Italian producer. Alfiero, Nina's brother, collects people that society has thrown away: a tramp, a prostitute named Valentina, a gypsy girl named Beniamina, and two hippie hitchhikers, Max and his companion. He drives them to the country mansion of Dr. Antonio Genovese and his wife, who offer the group hospitality. The guests notice a strange mechanical robot in the house, and then, one by one, they begin to disappear.
