Plot summary
A husband and wife sit in their front room over a Scrabble board. He cannot find a word for his next move, so she gets up to vacuum while he thinks. He turns on the TV for his favorite show, Sawing for Teens, and dozes off; an emergency broadcast announcing a worldwide nuclear war is cut off when the cat chews the electrical cord. Waking, he looks out the window at chaos in the streets and has no idea what it means. He peeks at the tiles his wife has left on the board. She returns, finds them rearranged and says he cheated, and the two argue.
