Plot summary

Matt Fletcher is a Mexican-American buffalo hunter who comes home to the town of Ojo Prieto and goes into a church to confess. The bandit Chuy Medina follows him inside and threatens him. Trini, Medina's girlfriend, mounts Fletcher's appaloosa and attempts to leave town. Townspeople stop her and tell Medina about it. Medina declares that the horse is one he intends to buy and that he had ordered Trini to try it. Fletcher does not want to sell, yet he is made to surrender the horse.
