Plot summary
Mads Brügger is a Danish journalist who goes undercover under the name Mr. Cortzen, presenting himself as a Liberian diplomat and businessman, an invented version of himself. In the Central African Republic he says he plans to open a match factory. What he is really doing is uncovering corruption linked to the brokerage of diplomatic titles and to blood diamonds. Liberia's government threatened to sue over the film, and a Dutch businessman whom the film identifies as the one who brokered the title tried to stop a screening in Amsterdam. At the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 it received a Grand Jury Prize nomination.

- The Liberian government threatened legal action against Mads Brügger over the film, and Dutch businessman Willem Tijssen, who according to the film brokered the diplomatic title, failed in an injunction to stop it screening at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. Danish media reported that Tijssen was pursuing legal action in Denmark over being filmed with a hidden camera.
