Plot summary
Harold Steptoe and his father Albert make their living as rag-and-bone men, traveling the neighborhood with a horse and cart and sharing a home at the junk yard. Harold likes the bright lights of London's West End. At a football club stag night he meets Zita, a stripper appearing among the acts. After a whirlwind romance they marry, and he brings her back to the yard. Albert is furious and tries to force her out of the house.
