Plot summary
In 1880, a stagecoach sets out from Dry Fork for Cheyenne in Wyoming Territory with a mixed passenger list. Dallas is a prostitute being driven out of town, Doc Boone an alcoholic doctor, and Lucy Mallory a pregnant woman traveling to join her cavalry officer husband. Samuel Peacock sells whiskey, Hatfield gambles for a living, and Henry Gatewood is a banker. Buck drives the coach, and Marshal Curly Wilcox rides along with the Ringo Kid, a gun-slinger bent on revenge, as his prisoner. Word arrives that Sioux warriors under Crazy Horse are on the warpath, so a cavalry troop escorts the coach part of the way.
