Plot summary
The documentary follows three restaurants in the United States and the people who run them. The first is a cutting-edge kitchen that has been named the seventh-best restaurant in the world, and its chef is battling a life-threatening obstacle in pursuit of his passion. The second has stayed in one family for 150 years, held up by an unbreakable bond with its community. The third is a fledgling Mexican restaurant whose owners risk everything to survive and to provide for their young daughter. Across the three stories, the film considers what food can mean and how it connects people to one another.
