Plot summary
Carrie Wink flies a helicopter for Heliscort, a heli-taxi service for high-level clients, and is married to Gordon Wink, an LAPD detective. A South African criminal named Fairfax is gathering four interlocking electronic devices that could shift the balance of power in the world; he has taken three by deception and violence. Carrie has already carried two of his men to an exchange without knowing it. The fourth device sits in the Zitex building, an 86-floor skyscraper in downtown Los Angeles. Called to pick up two VIPs, she flies Fairfax and his French assistant Jacques to the tower.
