Plot summary
Kim Sung-chil, seventy, lives alone and holds a part-time job at the neighborhood supermarket. The owner, Jang-soo, heads the city redevelopment project and has tried without success to obtain Sung-chil's signature; Sung-chil is the last resident holding out and the reason the project is stalled, and he refuses any change to his routine. Im Geum-nim, a friendly elderly woman who runs the flower shop next door, becomes his neighbor. Clumsy and inexperienced in romance at his age, he courts her while the whole town cheers him on.
